Odune is designed so that your data stays yours.

What the app collects: nothing

Odune has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs. Your inventory — items, photos, receipts, values, people, and plans — is stored only on your device.

Launch list

If you choose to join the launch list on our website, the email address you provide is sent through FormSubmit to support@odune.app. We use it only to send Odune launch news and do not add it to the app or sell it. You can ask us to remove it at any time. FormSubmit retains submitted form data for up to 30 days.

Photo recognition

Photo recognition runs entirely on your device: on iPhone and iPad with Apple's built-in frameworks, and on Android with a recognition model built into the app. Your photos are never uploaded anywhere by the app.

Product barcode lookup

Barcode lookup is optional. When you tap "Scan Product Barcode to Autofill," the app sends only the barcode digits to a public product database (UPCitemdb) to fetch the product's name, brand, and category. No personal or device-identifying information is included. If you never use this feature, the app makes no network requests at all.

Barcode scanning on Android

On Android, scanning a barcode with the camera uses Google's code scanner, part of Google Play services. The camera picture stays on your device, and only the barcode's value reaches Odune. When you scan, Google's scanner may send Google diagnostic information about how it performed: your device's model and Android version, the app's name and version, a diagnostics identifier that is not meant to identify you, and performance and error events. Google uses it to maintain and improve the scanner, and does not share it with third parties. If you never scan a barcode, this does not happen. On iPhone and iPad, scanning happens on the device with Apple's built-in frameworks.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple on iPhone and iPad, and by Google Play on Android. We never see your payment information.

Backups and exports

Backups and exports are created only when you ask, and go only where you send them.

Notifications

Warranty reminders are scheduled locally on your device.
